Wesley Ducote is currently an undergraduate student at the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University studying with Brian Connelly. A pianist of a wide repertoire, Mr. Ducote has performed music from Renaissance keyboard manuscripts to the music written in the last decade with particular interest in American music and the jazz compositions of Kapustin. He was winner of the Rapides symphony competition with which he performed the Schumann piano concerto in A minor, LMTA Yamaha piano competition, the Torgrimson-Swanzy competition, and two-time consecutive winner of the Red River Radio Competition which broadcast his performances. In addition to solo repertoire, Mr. Ducote is a performer of duo and chamber music and has had coachings with Virginia Weckstrom, Jeanne Fischer, Kenneth Goldsmith, Desmond Hoebig, and Paul Kantor.
